The Football Association of Wales is always seeking to recruit Referees, both male and female. Any individual, who wishes to become a referee should contact referee@faw.co.uk.
Information on how to start refereeing can be found by clicking here.
Referees courses are held in all areas of Wales under the jurisdiction of the local Associations. Once the course is satisfactorily completed individuals concerned will be able to progress through the system, and even progress to the FIFA International list of Referees and Assistant Referees, which gives them the opportunity to Officiate in all parts of Europe and on occasion in other parts of the world.
The current Welsh FIFA Officials are as follows:
Huw Jonesv - Llanrhaedr
Mark Whitby - Swansea
Gareth Ayres - Port Talbot
Alun Boore – Cardiff
Mark Dyson - Abertillery
Kim Fisher - Cardiff
Eddie King - Swansea
John Roberts - Caernarfon
John Swindley - Wrexham
Phil Thomas – Tonypandy
There are many advantages of becoming a Referee, particularly it gives the opportunity for physical activity, with a consequent improvement in health and fitness.
