Report: An action-packed game at Belle Vue saw Wales run out comfortable winners.

Wales, playing in all yellow were quickest out of the traps and within nine minutes, local boy Craig Jones had scored twice to knock Gibraltar out of their stride.

Matters got worse for the visitors when Les Davies of Bangor City netted from two quality corners in the 31st and 33rd minutes. A minute from half time a goal from the penalty spot for Brian Perez gave the Gibraltarians some consolation.

In the second half, Wales were sluggish and paid for it by conceding a second goal after a mix-up in the penalty area. However they soon picked-up the pace again and after a clumsy challenge in the area, Wales were awarded a penalty that Craig Jones slotted-home for his hat-trick on 72 minutes.

Eight minutes later, Chad Bond bundled the ball home at the far post to make it 6-2 as the game became even more frantic, with the Gibraltar manager, Albert Buhagiar sent to the stands.

That was the final score, so with England beating Scotland 1-0 in the other game of the evening at Colwyn Bay, the final match between England and Wales at Rhyl on Saturday will decide the fate of this season's competition.
