News - Wales Players Get Painted!

Posted: 5 March 2010

Members of the Wales squad and staff were delighted to take part in an arts project before the international in Swansea this week.

The team were pained by members of Heronsbridge Special School in Bridgend, with the help of Jon and Sally Phillips from 'Pippins Designs' who specialise in such work. Their paintings have already been seen at the Millennium and Liberty Stadiums, and this project saw them work on images from the Wales v Scotland game featuring Gareth Bale, Simon Church, Ched Evans and Aaron Ramsey. They also painted individual images of Ashley Williams, Joe Allen, John Toshack, Dean Saunders and a group action shot of the Swedish team.

Some of the pupils are featured below on St.David's Day, when they came to the Liberty Stadium and met the players and spent the day with the team and watched training.

The FAW wish to thank everyone for their hard work and look forward to working with Jon and Sally again in the near future. For more in formation on their work, go to: www.pippinsdesigns.co.uk
