News - Wales v England Under 21 Friendly Match

The FAW is pleased to announce a friendly Under 21 international against England on May 15th 2008 at the Racecourse, Wrexham. The game will be an opportunity for both managers, Brian Flynn and Stuart Pearce, to look at their squads for the current Under 21 European Championships. The match will be an evening kick off at a time still to be confirmed. The sides have met five times so far, first in 1976 at Wolverhampton (0-0), then 1979 at Swansea (1-0 England), Tranmere 1990 (0-0), Blackburn in 2003 (2-0 England) and finally Wrexham in 2005 (4-0 England). The final two games were in the UEFA Under 21 Championships.
