Action from Prestatyn v Dafen Welfare in the FAW Under 16 Girls Cup
Sophie Amor was the Cimla Girls Under 16's hero, with a double as the West Wales Womens & Girls League side beat Bethel to book their place in the FAW Under 16 Girls Cup Semi-Finals.
In an evenly contested first-half, Bethel took the lead just two minutes before the interval for a 1-0 half time lead. But it was honours even again just three minutes after the half-time break when Cimla were awarded a free-kick 30 yards out and Chelsey Harris put an unstopable shot into the top corner to level the scores at 1-1.
After Harris was denied by the post from another free-kick, Cimla took the lead of the first time as Katy Hosford took a throw in on the right and it was headed on by Jess Cooper into the path of Sophie Amor who finished well. Amor then intercepted a goal kick and ran into the box before finishing for 3-1. Bethel weren't finished and just a minute later pulled one back when the Cimla defence went to sleep, but there were to be no more goals and the side from just outside Neath progressed to the last-four.
FAW Under 16 Girls Cup
Kinmel Bay Girls came from two goals down against Caerphilly Castle to progress with Courtney Hughes their hat-trick hero. The first two goals both came from the penalty spot either side of half-time and extra-time was then required. Deep into the second half of added time, the ball fell for Hughes and with an impressive 30-yard lob, she sealed her third and Kinmel Bay's progress into the Last Four.
Prestatyn Girls are also in the Semi-Final with a 2-0 win over Dafen Welfare with Emily Jones and Zoe Stopford scoring the goals. Favourites Cardiff City Ladies enjoyed a comfortable 9-0 win over rivals Mardy Tigers, who have been their nemesis in the last two season's, having previously eliminated City in the last two years.
The four beaten quarter-finalists will all receive £500 in proze money, whilst the las-four have already guaranteed themselves £1,000 in prize-money from the FAW.
