Cardiff City Ladies and Cardiff Met. Ladies both won their FAW Women's Cup Semi-Finals on Sunday to set up a repeat of last year's Final.

The Final last year was won in a penalty shoot-out by Cardiff City Ladies against Welsh Premier Women's side UWIC Ladies (who have since changed name to Cardiff Met. Ladies) and the students will be looking to avenge that defeat when they go head-to-head in the showdown this year.

In Llanidloes, Cardiff Met took an eighth-minute lead after a good run down the right by Laura May Walkley who cut back to Emily Brown to slot home. The lead was doubled just before the break with a good finish after a powerful run, from Emily Allen.

Wrexham were back in it when Wales under 19 International Alys Hinchcliffe latched onto a lovely ball from Liv Pridding-Hull to half the deficit, but the students hung on to claim a final berth.

Favourites Cardiff City Ladies were always in control against South Wales Women's League team PILCS at the Newport Stadium. Kelly Aldridge was the hero for the current holders with a hat-trick. Skipper Lauren Townsend also registered, with an excellent free kick from the edge of the box, which curled straight in.
